Parents probably have never thought of culinary school as an extracurricular, but, kids all over are starting to build interest in it. As Young Chefs Academy of Stafford kicks off its Summer 2011 Camp Can-I-Cook with a Chocolate Adventure, children are enjoying the new foods they are preparing.
What was on the menu? Triple Chocolate Quick Bread, Italian Breakfast Rings, and Decadent Doughnuts with a choice of chocolate or powdered glaze frosting! The children, who have never met each other before, did a great job as they learned how to measure dry foods, how to melt chocolate safely in a microwave, kitchen safety and standing away from the hot stove, as well as learning the basics of kneading and using a mixer.
With all the excitement centered around chocolate being the main ingredient, the children can't wait to show up again tomorrow!
How do you register? Visit our website at www.youngchefsacademy.com/stafford and go to 'Camps' where you can register for any scheduled camp. Another option is to join us this weekend at our Open House from 12pm to 2pm! Each child has the chance to win one free drop-in class during our monthly themed program beginning on June 27th! KinderCooks (ages 3-5/6) runs from 3pm to 4pm and Jr/Sr Chef Classes (ages 6-14) runs from 5:30pm to 7pm, where each class will be following the theme, "Let's Go On a Picnic!"
We hope to see you there! Happy Cooking!
